Today is a Kosheen day.
Also a day for yoga. Can't wait to get on my mat. And if you're into some really great meditation music I suggest Shantala. Namaste.

Friday

Hello Mr.Friday

We got a ton of apples with our Organic box this week - and decided to start the weekend with a couple Apple Wrap Pies. I'll be bringing one over to my parents' tonight :) The house smells sooo good! Plus - they're so nice to share!!

Here is the recipe for 1 pie:

Apple Wrap Pie

Pastry for one-crust pie
2/3 c packed brown sugar
1/3 c all-purpose flour
4 c thinly sliced tart apples (peeled)
1 Tbsp butter
granulated sugar, if desired

Heat oven 425*F. Roll pastry into 13-inch circle and place on a large ungreased cooking sheet. Cover it with plastic wrap to keep moist while making filling.

Mix brown sugar and flour. Stir in apples. Mound apple mixture onto pastry to within 3 inches of edge. Cut butter into small pieces and sprinkle over apples. Fold edge of pastry over apples, making pleats so it lays on top of apples. Sprinkle pastry with sugar.

Bake 30-35 minutes (until crust is lightly golden brown). To prevent excessive browning, cover center of pie with 5-inch square of aluminum foil during last 10-15 minutes of baking. Cool on cookie sheet or wire rack 1 hour, or serve warm. Really really good w/vanilla ice cream!

Enjoy your Friday too! :)

Thursday

I can hardly contain my excitement....

Because earlier today I got two tickets to see The Swell Season in Ann Arbor!! (You know that part in Little Miss Sunshine - where Olive listens to the voice message about the pageant....and starts shaking and hopping - yeah? Well that's me at my computer!) They will be travelling with Rachael Yamagata. CAN'T WAIT you guys!

so ready for the weekend!

And so glad it starts after today! New music for you artists - MILOSH. Oh, you're really going to dig this one.

If you haven't yet seen the works of Tara Donovan - I dare say you shall! New York artist has completely blown me away with her vision for textures....especially with the use of these Styrofoam cups + hot glue.

Rust 02

I've finished another painting in the "Rust" collection! This one didn't take quite as long as the other. :) Next - I'll be working on a piece that combines 2 canvases - and will be the largest of the series yet. Although I haven't decided exactly what I'll be painting - I'm going between doing another one on old cars - or perhaps this time, one of old rusted gas pumps. I'm really happy with the colors - although I do struggle with how/where to sign the pieces (neither are signed yet).....I'm in the mood to begin the next!

Wednesday

I've been super busy - we've been back from Germany for two weeks and still trying to catch up. Here's some freelance work I did just before we left for a local band in Detroit - Robots In The Garden.
